Enjoy your stay
As with all other aspects at Secret Bay, the food is luxurious. Dishes use locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, including produce foraged from the property or brought in from local farmers and fishermen. You can enjoy these ethically prepared meals at Zing Zing restaurant which offers jaw-dropping views of Tibay Beach or Bwa Denn which features a casual gourmet restaurant on the ground floor, a full-service bar, microbrewery and cutting-edge wine cellar. Accessibility
Comprehensive Accessibility Across The Resort
Secret Bay believe that the serene beauty of Dominica should be experienced by all, which is why they’ve taken extensive measures to ensure their eco-luxe enclave is accessible to every traveller. Here’s how Secret Bay is redefining accessible luxury.
Welcome House
Mouben Welcome House is designed with accessibility in mind and serves as a hub for getting around the property. Mouben features an accessible welcome area with restrooms, from which guests can seamlessly connect to the Concierge team for experience planning, the villas by the funicular or via their fleet of electric golf carts, the restaurant, brewery and gallery by accessible ramps and accessible pathways to the bar, lap pool and beach areas.
Transportation
Secret Bay provides a seamless arrival experience with their shuttle van, equipped with a seat that lowers down and out of the vehicle for ease of transfer. This service picks up all guests at the airport and transports them directly to Secret Bay. Additionally, the resort offers golf cart transportation around the grounds and to the villas using slide boards for self-transfer or assisted transfer, as well as a funicular – the longest in the Caribbean – which has a ramped boarding area so those using wheelchairs or with limited mobility can smoothly board the rail car.
Wheelchair Accessible Villas
Secret Bay’s new two-bedroom accessible villas are fully equipped to provide a luxurious and inclusive stay. These villas feature ramps from the driveway to the villa deck, a wheelchair-friendly lift between the pool deck and the upper levels, and an accessible bathroom with grab bars, a padded shower bench and a handheld showerhead, providing seamless accessibility for those using wheelchairs or experiencing mobility challenges. The private infinity pools are outfitted with stairs, handrails, and poolside grab bars to ensure safety and ease of use. Additionally, staff are trained to place food items on lower refrigerator shelves for easy reach and to reposition or remove extra furniture upon request.
Restaurant
The newly opened, multi-level Bwa Denn Kitchen, Terrazza, gallery, brewery and boardroom are all fully accessible. Guests can enjoy these spaces with ease, thanks to ramps to the ground floor and an elevator connecting the floors, which also provides access to accessible restrooms.
Bar/Lap Pool
The bar and lap pool area at Secret Bay is fully accessible, with pathways leading directly to the pool deck. An accessible restroom is also conveniently located near the pool.
Beach Area
Secret Bay features an accessible pathway directly to the beach, where the sand is firm enough to be navigable for wheelchair users. Guests may require assistance across the sand, and the resort offers a sit-on-top kayak with outriggers for stability, suitable for some wheelchair users depending on strength and ability. A beach mat is also available to enhance accessibility.
Tailored Experiences for All
Secret Bay offers personalised experiences that cater to the needs of every guest. Whether you’re interested in a private in-villa cooking class with the executive chef or a rejuvenating in-villa spa treatment, the resort ensures that all activities are accessible. Additionally, nature enthusiasts can enjoy birdwatching tours with Dr. Birdy from the comfort of a vehicle, making it possible for guests with mobility challenges to experience Dominica’s lush beauty.
Accessible Excursions
While Dominica is known for its rugged terrain, Secret Bay has identified several accessible excursions for guests. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Fort Young historic site or the serene views at Fresh Water Lake, which features a ramp to the welcome centre and accessible restrooms. For more adventurous wheelchair users, specialised equipment is available, like a sit-on-top kayak with outriggers for stability.
In April 2024, Secret Bay hosted consultants from the Open Doors Organization (ODO), a renowned non-profit dedicated to enhancing travel and tourism access for individuals with disabilities, for a comprehensive accessibility assessment and staff training session. This training covered disability awareness, proper language and communication techniques, and practical tips for assisting guests with various accessibility needs. The team at Secret Bay is now more equipped than ever to provide a personalised and thoughtful service to all guests.

The name Titou Gorge is Creole and means “Little throat hole”, literally you will swim up the “throat” of the mountain to the waterfall plummeting heavily into the Gorge.
There’s no fun if you don’t get near or take that tour up the stream to experience the gushing, breathtaking enchanted waterfall. This gorge was formed many years ago and is fed by the water from the Fresh Water Lake.

KALINAGO PEOPLE
Kalinago Tour
Approx. 4-5 hours
After departing from your hotel, take a scenic drive towards Kalinago Barana Autê, an incredible cultural and historical site. The Kalinago Barana Autê is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich heritage of the Kalinago people, the indigenous inhabitants of Dominica. This unique facility not only offers a deep dive into the culture, history, and traditions of the Kalinago community but also plays a vital role in the region’s socio-economic development. By providing employment, supporting the sale of authentic Kalinago art and crafts, and creating a market for local agricultural produce, it serves as a hub for both cultural preservation and community growth.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a Kalinago tour guide who will present a visual overview of the Kalinago people’s fascinating history. Afterward, embark on a guided tour through the facility, which is set in a traditional village-style environment, offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.
INDIAN RIVER
Indian River Tour
Half day tour
The Indian River flows to the Caribbean Sea between the town of Portsmouth and the village of Glanvillia. It is the widest river in Dominica and also one of the most picturesque, dominated as it is by the spectacular buttressed Bwa Mang Trees.
The Kalinago (Carib Indian) people used to live along its banks and the river was important to their livelihood, as they used it to transport goods for trade with sailors.
Indian River boat rides are one of the more relaxing tourist attractions of Dominica. Experienced boatmen in hand-oared river boats will take you quietly past many types of wild life and plant life along the swampy river bank. No trip up the river is complete without a stop at the famous ‘Bush Bar’ to sample their delicious rum punch!

TI KWEN GLO CHO
Ti Kwen Glo Cho
Half day tour
Dominica is a volcanic island which births a myriad of wonders, from sulphur springs to ocean floor vents and boiling lakes. Ti Kwen is one of these. There are quite a few hot springs on the island, but Ti Kwen is by far one of the best ways to experience the healing thermal waters of the island.
A quaint family establishment, the hospitality at Ti Kwen makes the springs even more of a remarkable experience. The lush gardens complement the stone pools and refreshing fruit juices from the bar are a well needed thirst quencher after a hot soak.

MIDDLEHAM FALLS
Middleham Falls
Half day tour
Middleham Falls is Dominica’s tallest waterfall, with a cascade of almost 200 feet dropping into a beautiful swimming hole at the bottom.
The approximately 1.1 mile route to Middleham Falls begins at the small parking area with pavilion and bathrooms. The entire trail is through tropical rainforest, with several intermediate climbs and descents. The trail is generally well-maintained, with numerous stair-steps and hand-rails, but some sections have lots of roots to contend with. This can be a muddy trek after rains, but it is worth every step of the way through the beautiful rainforest to the exhilarating falls.
